England v Wales U18 Schools game update 7th Feb

Excitement is building as the first ever international to be held in Cornwall fast approaches.

As the England Schoolboys Under 18s squad put the finishing touches to their preparations for the start of this seasons Centenary Shield, Cornwall Schools FA are delighted with the interest and excitement building around the County.

With over 1400 tickets already sold (as at 7th Feb) and many more tickets being purchased on a daily basis, the first ever international fixture to be held in Cornwall is certainly promises to be a well-supported occasion.

The fixture which is taking place on Friday 27 February 2015 at Truro City FC between England and Wales Schoolboys Under 18s, with a 7pm kick off forms part of the Cornwall Schools FA centenary celebrations.

There are still plenty of tickets available to purchase with tickets priced at £6.00 per adult and £3.00 per child (16 and under) with group bookings available for affiliated schools and clubs. Match tickets and enquiries are available by contacting Mr Alan Yendell at adyendell@callingtoncc.net. There will be no cash sales on the night.

England are the current holders of the Centenary Shield, which sees them compete against Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland and are hoping for a strong start against the Welsh which will hopefully be helped by a big crowd at Treyew Road.

It has also been confirmed that FIFA & Premier League Referee and FA Cup Final Referee Lee Probert will officiate the fixture with local young officials Ben Judd and Ciaran Barlow acting as his assistants.

Cornwall Schools FA spokesman Alan Yendell commented ‘It is fantastic that so many people within the county have shown their support for this fixture by purchasing their match tickets. It’s going to be a wonderful evening and I would be delighted if we could get a capacity crowd of 3000 spectators. This is a unique fixture for the county, so I urge any true football fan to get along and watch some of the great talent that will be on show’
