Dunstable Town FC v Truro City FC - Detailed response from the FA

Dunstable FC v Truro City

I can confirm that we have received a detailed response from the Football Association which contains a number of recommendations to both Dunstable Town FC and Truro City FC relating to the incident at Creasey Park.

I can report that in this instance “The Football Association does not propose to take any further action on this occasion”. However, they have advised that they “may have to consider disciplinary action against the club if further reports of spectator misconduct should be received and The Association reserves the right to refer to the current matter in such circumstances.”

Furthermore, the Football Association states that “evidence of such misconduct by Truro City supporters at any home or away match then for the health and wellbeing of other supporters your club should look to impose lengthy club bans on the individuals concerned and publicise the bans which will hopefully send out a strong message and discourage other supporters from acting in such a way”.

The Club will now undertake a full review of it procedures at both home and away matches in line with the Football Association guidance and take the necessary action on the small number of supporters to ensure that such appalling behaviour is never again repeated.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Southern League, Cornwall Football Association and the Football Association for their guidance in this matter.

Peter Masters
Chairman Truro City Football Club
