The left back, who turns 20 next week, joined Truro City on an initial six month loan from Exeter City at the beginning of the season. Connor made his debut on the first day of the season and has now made 25 appearances in all competitions. He has also scored twice in that time.

Manager Steve Tully, who said at the beginning of the season that he hoped Connor would remain at Treyew until May, is very happy with the outcome:

“We’re delighted to secure Connor until the end of the season. He’s been a credit to himself and his club since coming to Truro and has grown with every performance.”

Connor agrees that he’s gained a huge amount already from his time at Treyew Road:

“Coming to Truro has helped me massively. It’s not only given me match fitness but also experience in mens’ football. It’s a different game to playing in the reserves at Exeter. It’s more physical, getting the points on the day is more important and it’s also given me that ‘Saturday feeling’ back.”

He also feels that he’s improved as a player:

“It’s helped to develop other parts of my game that I wouldn’t have developed as quickly at Exeter.”

And he felt at home at Truro City very quickly:

“The lads have been great - I settled in straight away. I knew Wayne and Steve from before and they’ve been really helpful. They’ve been a big part of my development over the last six months and I have to give them a lot of credit.”

As for the team’s performance so far in the season, Connor believes that Truro City have exceeded expectations in the club’s first season in the National League South:

“I think we’ve proved a lot of people wrong and I feel like I’ve been a big part of that.”

And he’s already fired up about next Saturday’s big game at league leaders, Ebbsfleet United:

“One thing about playing the leaders is that in some ways you’ve got nothing to lose. It’s a great opportunity and we should go into it feeling positive. We’ve beaten some good teams this year so who knows? There’s no reason why we can’t go there and win the match.”
