The latest on Treyew Road...
TRURO City FC have received notice that Helical intend to start development of Treyew Road and require the site at the earliest opportunity to enable them to fulfil their agreement with Lidi Supermarket.
This means we must vacate Treyew Road by July 31st 2018, which is just nine days away. Whilst we were aware that there was a possibility of being asked to vacate Treyew Road during the 2018/19 season, we did not expect this to happen with such short notice.
Vacating Treyew Road now will secure the £2m contribution from Truro City FC to the S4C and enable the stadium to progress inline with the build programme, securing the future of the club. We fully understand that a temporary move may be unpopular for some supporters, however, we would ask you to accept that this is a case of short-term pain for a long-term gain.
Since being made aware of the developers' intentions, we have been in discussions with both The National League and Torquay United Football Club and can confirm that we have reached an agreement to ground share with Torquay United for the 2018/19 season with the approval of The National League, commencing with our first home game at Torquay on August 4th against Billericay Town.
We will shortly be announcing details to subsidise coach travel arrangements to Torquay for our home games as well as admission prices, season tickets and other matters relating to this temporary move. We will say now that any person who has already purchased a season ticket for Treyew Road will be offered a full refund should they not wish to take up the opportunity of subsidised travel.
On a rallying note, getting where we are today following the catastrophic events of 2012 has been nothing short of a miracle; we are now taking one almighty leap towards getting built a 'state-of-the-art' stadium here in Truro and importantly safeguarding the future of the Football Club playing in The National League South with the ambition of achieving Football League status here in Cornwall.
We take this opportunity to salute all our team, supporters, volunteers and those who have plucked the club from the depths of despair and guided it through the most successful period in its history. We march onwards and upwards...
