Early days but a flying start by the White Tigers

Fresh from a last gasp 3-2 home victory over Welling United on Saturday, Truro City, made the Monday night trip to Evesham United to take on Gloucester City who had been moved over into the National League South in the close-season.
Manager Lee Hodges made a couple of changes to Saturday`s team with Ed Palmer coming in for Chris Todd and recent signing Connor Riley-Lowe replacing Ben Harding who dropped to the bench. City, who were beaten 2-0 at Chelmsford City on Saturday were playing their first game at their `new home` but it was the visitors who stunned the home crowd by taking an early seventh minute lead. The White Tigers were awarded a free-kick and up stepped ED PALMER to fire his shot into the net. This was just the start the visitors had been looking for and they were forced to soak up a little pressure from the home side and Chris Hanks went close but his shot was just wide but four minutes before the break a BEN GERRING header doubled his side`s advantage.

At the interval Jordan Copp replaced Aaron Lamont and twelve minutes into the half the home side were offered a lifeline when they were awarded a penalty after a hand ball in the area. However, goalkeeper Tom McHale came to the rescue by saving Ethan Moore`s spot-kick and with fifteen minutes of the game remaining Truro made it game, set and match when JORDAN COPP scored a third after catching the home side on the break.
