BEN HARDING is relishing the opportunity to lead The White Tigers into battle on Saturday as we head to Eastbourne Borough (kick-off 3.00pm).
The experienced midfielder has been placed in interim charge of the team following the departure of Lee Hodges and Chris Todd earlier this week.
“I am enjoying the responsibility,” he said after what has been a hectic few days. “Obviously I am disappointed that it has come in these circumstances because Lee and Chris are fantastic people who I enjoyed working with.
“Their departure came as a massive shock; they have worked tirelessly for the club but someone had to step up and lead the team at the weekend and I was only too happy to take on the role.
“Now is not the time to be negative. We have to look ahead and ensure that our motivation and enthusiasm is there for the games ahead, starting on Saturday at Eastbourne.
“Every game in this League is tough, and this one will be no different. There are some quality players that have found their way into this League and the standard is getting higher every season.
“We’re ready for the test that stands before us. We have the tools here to be able to go there and get a positive result and take things from there.
“It is a time for everyone connected to the club to be pulling in the same direction. The fans have always been brilliant with the players and their commitment to the cause cannot be questioned.
“We appreciate this support and we need it in abundance now more than ever. My message to the fans is remain positive and stick with us.
“The players and staff are working as hard as we can to keep pushing this club forward.”
