Deserved Vanarama National League South Volunteer of the Month recognition for Parson...

WE ARE delighted to announce that our very own Arthur Parson has been named as the Vanarama National League South Volunteer of the Month for October.
The 71 year-old has continued to maintain the pitch and surroundings at Treyew Road as well as carrying out other odd jobs around the club and on matchdays he drives the Supporters Club minibus to home and away games, clocking up many thousands of miles along the way.
“It’s nice to get recognition for what I do,” he said upon receiving his award. “There are a few of us who help out and it’s nice to be part of that and be able to do what we can.
“It gets me out of the house and keeps me fit and busy, so the involvement that I have here means a lot to me.
“I used to be a truck driver and I still miss that, so being able to drive the supporters’ minibus to games is a good alternative for me.”
Arthur’s involvement with the club goes back 15 years.
“I am from London originally but have family connections to Cornwall and have lived here for around 15 years,” he added. “I started watching Truro City soon after I moved here; at first it was mainly home games but now I go home and away and love every minute of it.
“Like any football fan, I want to see my team win, so it’s nice to see that recent results have started to improve and that the new manager is getting things moving in the right direction.”
Congratulations to Arthur on the deserved award and thank you to all of our valued volunteers.
