Argyle X1 suffer heavy pre season defeat at Truro City (Plymouth Herald)

TRURO City thrashed a Plymouth Argyle XI 5-1 in a pre-season game at Treyew Road on Thursday night.

The Southern League Premier Division hosts led 2-1 at half-time after goals from former Pilgrims’ striker Barry Hayles and Dan Green.

Tyler Harvey cut the deficit for Argyle with a fine free-kick shortly before the interval.

However, Truro took a firm grip on the game after the break with goals from Craig Duff and Isaac Vassell, another ex-Pilgrims’ forward.

Ben Watson then completed the scoring for City in spectacular style with a shot off the underside of the crossbar.
